Ephesians 3:17.

“And I pray that Christ will be more and more at home in your hearts as you trust in Him. May your roots grow down deep into the soil of God’s marvelous love”.

Question: What is conjured up in your mind when you hear the word ‘home’? For me I think of my family, comfort, cosy, safe, food, trust, conversation, peace; hey I could go on. Think about this, what would it take for CHRIST to be ” more and more at home in” our “hearts?” What kind of place should my heart be like for CHRIST to feel at home in me? Have you ever thought about that?

These words Paul has written are not just written to fill a gap on a page. Paul was imprisoned, everything mattered. He had the time to think, and pray. He was concerned about the lives and hearts of the believers, and how their lives could make a difference to the church of Jesus Christ, and to those yet to believe. More importantly he knew Christ’s heart and the message Christ wanted His people to receive and live out day by day, by day.

Today: Reflect, ponder, meditate on this question, what should my heart be like for Christ to feel at home? Then pray, and ask your Heavenly Father to help your heart to be more ‘homily’ for Him. After all we all know there’s no place like home!
